Frequently asked Soy Candle questions:
What is Soy Wax?
Soy Wax is hydrogenated Soybean oil which has been harvested from the Soybean. Hydrogenated Soybean oil gets frozen at 30 degrees Fahrenheit and in turn gets pressed into flake form.
No added chemicals are needed to enhance the quality of Soy Wax, in some cases other botanical oils are added to improve the hardness of Soy Wax.
What are the characteristics of Soy Wax?
Soy Wax is a soft wax and needs to be burned in some sort of tight fitting container. Soy Wax tends to have a whitish film on the outside or on top of the candle when burned, this is a natural occurrence with Soy wax. Soy Wax has a low melting point, allowing for an excellent scent throw and scent retention, meaning; the fragrance lasts the whole life of the candle. Soy candles can have small imperfections like, fine hairline cracks, air bubbles, "frosting" and wet spots. These should in no way be considered as defects and do not effect the overall performance of the Soy candle.
How will I know if a candle is a genuine Soy Candle?
Look for the; Made from 100% Soybean on the label, if it does not say that, it is most likely not a genuine Soy candle!
Is Soy Wax really soot free?
No, to say that Soy Candles are practically soot free is the most accurate description. No one should attempt to claim that Soy Candles are completely soot free. Soy Wax produces only a small amount of harmless soot unlike paraffin wax, which produces harmful toxins and large amounts of black soot.
What type of fragrances do you use for your Soy Candles?
The fragrances we use in our Soy Candles are 100% pure (undiluted) quality essential oil blends and fragrance oils specifically suited for Soy wax.
How much longer does Soy Wax Candles last VS paraffin wax Candles?
